National law firm Clarke Willmott has celebrated the relocation of its Bristol office, saying the move demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and staff wellbeing.

Its 300 Bristol-based staff recently took up residence in the state-of-the-art office on the top two floors of the 11-storey Assembly Building C on Cheese Lane.

Now the firm has officially opened the office, designed specifically to compliment the firm’s hybrid working strategy, at a launch party attended by staff from all its seven regional offices as well as clients, contacts and suppliers.

The event showcased the office’s green credentials – Assembly Building C has been given an energy efficiency rating of A, which will help Clarke Willmott deliver on its newly verified commitment to achieving net zero by 2040.

Bristol office head Alex Jakubowski, pictured, explained how the building’s electricity supply was also 100% renewable, thanks to the firm linking to Bristol’s heat network, the innovative underground network that reduces carbon emissions by delivering low-carbon heat and energy throughout the city centre.

Clarke Willmott CEO Peter Swinburn said: “Our new Bristol office is a cornerstone in Clarke Willmott’s long-term plans, playing a particularly vital role in our commitment to sustainability.

“It is fantastic to be able to showcase our new space to wider colleagues and contacts, especially as we have such impressive, almost panoramic, views of Bristol and the Floating Harbour.

“This launch event marks an exciting time for Clarke Willmott as we continue to develop our property portfolio.”

Last year the firm boosted its Birmingham offering with a new purpose-built office as well as unveiling a major refurbishment of its base in Taunton office, while next month it will open a new Cardiff office. Its previous Bristol office was in Bath Street at Finzel’s Reach.

The firm, which employs more than 650 staff, including 100-plus partners, also has offices in London, Manchester and Southampton.
