Coveted West of England Business of the Year Awards launched to find region’s top company

December 5, 2014

The annual search for the region’s best companies has started with the launch of accountants PwC’s widely-respected West of England Business of the Year Awards 2015.

Now in their 27th year, the eagerly-contested awards are the most prestigious in the region by far – previous winners read like a who’s who of the West’s most-respected companies.

Last year’s winner was Swindon-based construction group Beard. Other recent winners have included Wiltshire-based household appliance giant Dyson and Mitie, the fast-growing Bristol-based outsourcing group.

The unrivalled awards, which are being staged in association with ITV West and Circle 2 Success, have gained a reputation built firmly on the thoroughness of the judging panel, which is made up of respected business figures from across the region.

Bristol Business News is delighted to be the official media partner of the coveted awards, along with its sister titles Swindon Business News and Bath Business News.

The awards have maintained their unique position as they only two categories: for business with a turnover above £30m and for those turning over less than £30m.

The gala award ceremony, which takes place next July, is also a high point in the region’s business calendar, attracting high-profile guests from across the business community.

PwC regional chairman Matthew Hammond said: “PwC’s partners and the West region team are very much looking forward to continuing our market leading association with these prestigious awards, meeting and celebrating with the finalists in the competition.

“These awards are an annual event in the West region business calendar as we recognise the achievements of businesses on our doorstep and hear how they contribute to the success and profile of West region.”

The benefits of entering include:

  • Finalists and winners are profiled in the media.
  • Shortlisted entrants will be visited by the independent judges who will share their feedback. Past entrants say this has given them great insight into how the outside world regards their business.
