Women box clever as female business festival returns for second year

The second Women Outside The Box (WOTB) festival of female entrepreneurship is to take place in October following the success of its inaugural event last year.

The event has a mission to encourage more women to set up in business and to dare to think big. The 700-plus women who attended last year benefited from networking, advice sessions, expert speakers and exhibitions by suppliers and independent producers.

Now the team behind WOTB is inviting potential sponsors to a breakfast launch event next Wednesday to find out how they can become involved. Law firm Gregg Latchams has already confirmed it is to be the event’s first gold sponsor, reflecting its support for start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises and its understanding of the contribution female-led enterprises make to the West’s economy.

The breakfast launch event takes place at the offices of Bristol accountants Smith & Williamson. WOTB founder Joni Farthing will outline the focus of this year’s event and the opportunities to become involved. The festival is on October 7 at the Arnolfini.
