The countdown is on for Export Week and West companies need to act fast to sign up to explore a world of trade opportunities on their doorstep.

The Government’s trade promotion organisation UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is running a series of regional events during the week of November 11-15 aimed at getting businesses to either start exporting or to expand their international trade activity.

UKTI has teamed up with partners and businesses to organise a wide variety of events across the country, with the highlight of the week being the ExploreExport roadshow.

The roadshow will visit South Gloucestershire, where trade officers from up to 60 international markets will share their expertise in a series of one-to-one meetings with companies who sign up for the events.

There will also be a series of seminars covering a range of topics to help companies overcome some of the basic barriers to export, including intellectual property, getting goods to market, export documentation and finance.

South West UKTI director Russell Jones said: “We were delighted with the support for our previous Export Week initiatives and we’ve already signed up more than 300 companies to take part in next week’s events, but there’s still time for others to register and I’m keen to welcome as many as possible.

“The ExploreExport roadshow will enable companies to find out about the huge potential offered in markets around the globe and, working with our partners, we’ve put together a wide range of events to offer something for everyone, whether a novice or experienced exporter.

“And, of course, UKTI’s experts will be on hand to guide them and advise on the wide range of support they can access to help them achieve their exporting ambitions.”

Events taking place across the South West during Export Week include:

•           ExploreExport event at Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge, South Gloucestershire.

Wednesday 13 November:

•           VentureFest event at UWE Exhibition and Conference Centre, Bristol.
