Bristol-based national law firm Veale Wasbrough Vizards (VWV) has continued its growth in the North London and Hertfordshire areas by teaming up with niche private client law firm Seabourne Lawleys.

Northwood-based Seabourne Lawleys specialises in a range of legal work, mostly for private clients including residential property, family and related finances, cohabitation, wills, probate and trust advice.

VWV managing partner Simon Heald said the firm had been seeking further growth opportunities not just for its national practice but also its private client offering in Watford.

VWV took on 30 commercial lawyers from Matthew Arnold & Baldwin (MAB) ahead of the firm’s closure early last year. The team has since been relocated to a new office in Watford

Mr Heald said: “For Watford, North London and the Northern Home Counties, we are very committed to maintaining and building a local presence. Before MAB closed in January 2016, it was the ‘go-to’ firm in Watford and that is a mantle VWV is fast assuming. We want to build on that. Our Seabourne Lawleys collaboration reinforces this drive and ambition.

“As a firm we are top ranked for our private client services. The addition of Seabourne Lawleys consolidates our position.”

VWV also merged with healthcare specialist Lockharts in February this year.Lockharts is focused on supporting doctors, dentists, optometrists, vets, pharmacists, care homes and other healthcare professionals and organisations across England and Wales.

Seabourne Lawleys managing partner Megan Seabourne added: “I have been looking for an ideal partner to support and maintain a long-lasting relationship with my clients and staff. I believe that partner to be VWV.

“For me, VWV has a real passion for private clients which is, sadly, lost by so many firms these days. VWV’s track record is impressive and its teams are so very approachable and friendly.”
