A heady cocktail of vesper martinis and Aston Martins provided the thrills for around 85 VIP guests before they settled down to an exclusive screening of the classic Bond movie Goldfinger.

The event, part of Bristol Film Festival, was sponsored by the Bristol office of accountancy, investment management and tax group Smith & Williamson. It took place at the Aston Martin showroom at Cribbs Causeway.

Smith & Williamson clients and contacts were invited along with representatives o]f Bristol’s film industry and those associated with the festival.

Helen Bassett, an associate director in Smith & Williamson’s Bristol technology team, said: “It was a very different sort of evening with a talented mixologist working his magic and serving vesper cocktails – 007’s favourite tipple.

“The stunning range of Aston Martins on show, which included two DB5s made famous by Bond himself, the DB9 GT Bond Edition and two vintage DB4s, was another talking point. The film was as entertaining as ever and we were pleased to show our ongoing support for the festival and the technical and creative minds behind it.”

Bristol Film Festival director Owen Franklin added: “Aston Martin and Bond are an enduring partnership, and we were delighted to be able to show perhaps the most iconic Bond film of all, to a packed audience in a very fitting place.”
