Vince Cable to shed light on post-Brexit economic outlook and industrial policy at Bristol event

Bristol business leaders will get a chance to hear the thoughts of former Business Secretary Sir Vince Cable on the economy post-Brexit when he visits the city.

The former senior Liberal Democrat MP, pictured, will be in conversation with the Institute of Directors’ chief economist James Sproule at the event on October 11. 

Sir Vince has recently published the sequel to his book The Storm, entitled After The Storm, examining the strategic role government plays in UK industrial and infrastructure policy, among other leadership topics.

James Sproule has been the IoD’s chief economist and director of policy since 2014.

Prior to joining the IoD, he led Accenture’s UK and global capital markets research, focusing on thought leadership having started his career as an economist in Canada.
