International experts in construction management will gather at the University of the West of England (UWE) next week for the 27th Annual ARCOM (the Association of Researchers in Construction Management) Conference.

ARCOM aims to advance knowledge in all aspects of construction management by supporting education, dissemination and research. The conference, which will bring together researchers from around the world, will explore current advances in construction management research with an emphasis on new research in construction management and its associated disciplines.

Themes for discussion will include Sustainability, Environment and Climate change; Inter-Organisational Relations and Supply Chain Management; Law and Contract; Procurement; and Equality and Diversity.

UWE head of construction and property, Professor David Proverbs, said: “This conference plays a vital role in helping researchers reflect on current practice and to hear some of the genuinely ground-breaking research that is going on.

“Construction activities are vital to the economies of developed and emerging economies. Construction is also booming in many countries, particularly in the Far East, and it is essential that best practice is shared with as wide an audience as possible.”

The conference takes place from Monday to Wednesday at UWE’s Frenchay Campus.
