Two senior associate promotions at Barcan+Kirby increases partnership to 18

March 19, 2020

Bristol law firm Barcan+Kirby has promoted two of its senior associates – Anna Molter and Rob Davenport – to partner.

The move brings the total number of partners in the firm to 18. It also maintains the gender balance of the partnership.

Anna joined Barcan+Kirby’s private client team in 2012 and has since guiding the firm’s clients through a wide range of probate and dealings with their estates.

She is also a trustee of Bristol Dementia Action Alliance and a trained dementia friends champion, providing training to all new starters at the firm. To date she has helped more than 200 individuals become dementia friends.

Anna said: “I am utterly delighted to have been promoted to partner. Through study and mentoring sessions, I have been working hard to learn the skills needed for the role and very much looking forward to the next chapter of my legal career.”

Rob joined Barcan+Kirby’s corporate and commercial department in 2017 and advises clients on business-to-business contracting and matters such as business sales, partnership and other governance matters. He has particularly expertise in the legal aspects of buying and selling nurseries.

Rob added: “I’m also very excited to be joining the partnership and look forward to continuing the firm’s strong development in the Bristol market.”

Barcan+Kirby managing partner Bill Willcocks said both promotions were richly deserved.

“We are proud of Anna and Rob’s achievements and their valuable contribution to the firm as lawyers and team members.

Barcan+Kirby has six high street branches across Bristol and South Gloucestershire providing a comprehensive range of legal services, including residential conveyancing, family law and mediation as well as issues relating to Power of Attorney and wills and estate planning.

Last year it won Bristol Law Society’s Firm of the Year (under 20 partners) Award for the second time in four years. It was also won the business award for gender at the Bristol Diversity Awards 2019.
