Independent Bristol accountancy practice Corrigan Associates has continued its rapid growth with a 70% increase in turnover last year.

Formed by Edward Corrigan in 2009 in the depth of the recession, the practice has expanded to become one of the leading independent accounting practices in Bristol, with clients ranging from some of the region’s fastest-growing tech firms to private businesses and charities.

Staff numbers have recently reached 15 – almost double their level of two years ago – and the firm continues to attract high-calibre personnel.

The firm was bolstered by the arrival of Richard Bunker as private client specialist partner at the beginning of last year, along with Andrew Jordan as assurance specialist.

Rich Harding and Annabelle Jillett joined during the year, expanding the business support and financial reporting services respectively.

Edward said: “A first-rate set of staff and a genuine interest in helping our clients growth has underpinned our success.

“Our practice is much more about advice and support throughout the year than the annual routines of the past. The growth in cloud accounting platforms like Xero is facilitating these developments, as a wave of younger entrepreneurs coming forward look for a different service from their professional advisers.

“We are fortunate to attract staff who have all worked for much larger businesses but they enjoy the challenge and opportunity of building an independent practice with a strong team ethos.”
