TUC chief to explain why fairness at work should underpin economic recovery

Fairness in the workplace and its role in strengthening the economy will form the basis of a presentation by TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady when she visits Bristol next week.

Ms O’Grady, pictured, will argue that Britain is at a crossroads and, despite tentative signs of improvement, the economy is still smaller than before the crash.

Living standards are facing their tightest squeeze in a century and workplaces are increasingly insecure, with endemic low pay and widespread use of zero hours contracts.

Ms O’Grady's speech will form the latest in the University of the West of England’s Bristol Distinguished Executive Address Series. The events provide a unique opportunity to hear about the challenges, issues and decisions being made at the highest level of strategic leadership.

The event is on Wednesday at City Hall starting at 6pm.

The Bristol Distinguished Executive Address Series is delivered by the Bristol Business School at UWE.

Attendance is by invitation only. For further information contact events@uwe.ac.uk
