Business ethics and how they impact on individuals, companies and society will be explored at the fifth Board 2020 conference to be held in Bristol next month.

Hosted by Bristol-based executive search and recruitment specialists Moon Consulting, UWE and Strategic Value Partners (SVP), the high-profile event will feature Steve Hindley CBE, chairman of major South West construction and property group Midas alongside national tax experts from accounting firms Baker Tilly and AC Mole & Sons.

The issue of business ethics has moved centre stage for companies, industry groups, trade bodies and politicians following the banking crisis of 2008. The Board 2020 conference will look at how the way businesses operate affect their executives and staff, the organisation itself, and how it can impact on the wider economy and society in general.

Mr Hindley will explain ethical choices in business from his extensive experience of growing his company from a small construction firm into one of the UK’s largest property services providers. Steve is also heavily involved in lobbying Government, promoting education and supporting charities.  He is chairman of the CBI Construction Council and a member of and former chair of its South West Council. He was awarded the CBE in 2006 for services to the construction industry

Accountants Paul Aplin from AC Mole and David Heaton of Baker Tilly will stage a debate on taxation and morality in business, each taking an opposing view on what is right for businesses to pay in the current difficult economic climate.

The event takes place at the UWE Conference Centre on October 31 from 08.30am to 2pm and is the latest in the successful Board 2020 seminar series aimed at Bristol area directors.

Board 2020 was set up two years ago by SVP and Moon Consulting to stage conferences with a difference. Its events give delegates the chance to hear from high-level speakers as well as providing interactive learning through group discussions.

Board 2020 events are attended exclusively by board members, executive and non-executive directors.

Places are limited and Board 2020 events are extremely popular. To register, contact Oliver Harrison via oliverharrison@moonconsulting.co.uk or phone 01275 371200.
