Tax trainee Tara Moxey, who is based in the private client tax team at accountants Smith & Williamson’s Bristol office, has been named as one of 25 winners in a prestigious national competition.

Tara, pictured, is included in the 25att25 competition run by the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) to mark its 25th anniversary.

She is one of five young tax professionals from Smith & Williamson to be selected by the ATT in the competition, which rewards and recognises the UK’s most promising tax workers under the age of 25.

Tara joined Smith & Williamson’s graduate programme after completing a nine-month placement at the firm and graduating from UWE with a first-class Honours Degree in Business with Accounting and Finance.

Tara said: “I was really pleased to be nominated by Smith & Williamson and thrilled to be named a winner.

“Coping with the demands of work while studying can be challenging so receiving an award like this is highly motivating.”

Partner and head of the private client tax team at Smith & Williamson’s Bristol office, Imogen Hilton-Brown, added: “Tara is a huge asset to the firm. She has an incredibly enthusiastic and outgoing personality and she consistently delivers over and above what is expected of her and helps out other members of the department. She has also relished the very important task of taking on the responsibility of departmental tax technical co-ordinator.”

Tara and the other winners recently attended an official celebration at the Tower of London
