Experienced project finance specialist Victoria Quek has joined Bristol-headquartered national law firm TLT as a partner in its future energy team.

Victoria, pictured, who focuses on the financing of renewable energy transition projects, previously worked at Eversheds Sutherland for more than 21 years, most recently as a legal director.

She has acted on renewable energy projects in the UK as well as Europe and the Middle East, including solar farms, wind farms and biomass energy generation projects.

She has advised a wide portfolio of financial institutions, developers and sponsors on the acquisition, development, structuring, financing and onward sale of projects across varying technologies.

Her recent projects include advising a leading German bank in the project financing of a portfolio of solar projects across the UK, Italy and Poland.

She has also acted for a renewable energy investment fund in acquiring, developing and project financing its biomass plants in the UK, as well as wind projects in Northern Europe.

At TLT Victoria will work closely with the firm’s banking and future energy teams, further enhancing the firm’s international capabilities in regards to project financing in the future energy sector.

She is the latest addition to TLT’s growing future energy team, following the appointment last August of partner Michael Kruger from Osborne Clarke.

Victoria said: “Experiencing first hand the work of the TLT future energy team on various transactions from the opposite side of the negotiation table, I was always impressed with their strength, their depth of industry knowledge and their speed and professionalism.

“The experience I have gained in the past decade in project financing energy transition projects will complement and further strengthen the TLT future energy practice, making it a perfectly natural fit.”

TLT banking team partner Gary Roscoe added: “The future energy market is very vibrant and the addition of Victoria to our team is another demonstration of TLT’s commitment to success in the sector.

“Following the arrival of Michael Kruger last year, we now have three dedicated project finance, clean energy partners, which showcases our real strength in depth.

“We look forward to working alongside Victoria as we continue to reinforce our position as a leading advisor in this sector.”

TLT has more than 150 partners and employs around 1,400 people across its six offices.
