A nerve-fraying 200ft abseil down the side of its Bristol HQ – along with dress-down days, bake-offs and quizzes – helped staff at national law firm TLT raise more than £14,000 for their chosen charity Children’s Hospice South West.

The abseil, pictured, alone – in which more than 50 people participated – raised just under half the total while real estate partner Matt Grimwood also ran the London Marathon.

TLT senior partner Andrew Glynn said “We are extremely pleased to have supported Children’s Hospice South West by helping to fund the vital care they provide to children with life-limiting conditions, and their families.

“Our Bristol staff have thrown themselves into a range of fundraising activities for a fantastic charity that we all enjoyed working with.”

CHSW corporate partnerships fundraiser Amanda Gallagher added: “The team at TLT have shown great enthusiasm and commitment to the cause and we have been blown away by their fundraising.

“Their kind support will help us continue to provide specialist care to families in the local area whose children have been diagnosed with life-limiting conditions.”

Children’s Hospice South West is the only children’s hospice in the South West and is dedicated to making the most of short and precious lives, providing the best possible hospice care for life-limited children and their families.

Its three hospices in the South West, including Charlton Farm at Wraxall, which opened in 2007, cost around £10m a year to run and it relies almost entirely on voluntary contributions.
