TLT, the Bristol-headquartered law firm, has advised venture capital firm Sussex Place Ventures on its investment in expanding UK firm Kimble Applications, one of Europe’s leading professional services automation (PSA) providers.

The investment, part of a $1.8m (£1.2m) equity fundraising, will allow Kimble Applications to further expand its international operations, including opening an office in Boston, its third in the US.

The deal is the latest for TLT in the fast-growing SaaS (software as a service) sector.

The TLT team was led by corporate partner Jon Gill, assisted by corporate solicitor Jack Wolton.

Jon Gill, pictured, said: “We were really pleased to work with Sussex Place Ventures on their latest investment, which will be invaluable in helping Kimble Applications realise their ambitious growth plans.

“We are seeing a lot of interest from investors in SaaS platforms that can drive efficiencies in industries such as financial and professional services.”

Sussex Place Ventures managing partner Barnaby Terry added: “We have known Kimble for some time and were delighted to have the opportunity to support their growth with an investment from our new fund.

“Jon and Jack did a great job of navigating the dynamics of this financing round and bring this investment to an efficient conclusion.”

TLT, which also has offices in Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Manchester, advised Sussex Place Ventures along with UCL Business and New Wave Ventures on a £2m equity fundraising for Cambridge-based cancer healthcare company Endomagnetics at the end of last year.

Kimble Applications’ PSA products help clients improve business performance, increase visibility and provide enhanced company collaboration.
