Owners and directors of firms in the creative, technical and media sectors who are considering preparing their business for investment, sale or merger can find out more at a workshop in Bristol later this month.

David Roper, a partner at the Bristol office of accountancy and investment management group Smith & Williamson, and Rebecca Steer, pictured, of niche Bristol legal practice Steer & Co, will speak at the event, which is being hosted by Bristol Media.

The workshop, which takes place at Goldbrick House, Park Street, on Monday, February 23 from 4pm to 6pm, will explore how and where business owners and directors should look for investment or potential buyers.

It will also explain how businesses are valued and the steps they can take to boost the value and minimise the risk of failure.

One-to-one sessions will be available with the speakers and there will be a Q&A session after the presentations, which will include a discussion on the sale of Bristol-based social media company SecondSync to Twitter.
