More Bristol firms are ready to bring their skills to the table as the city’s all-action Ping Pong Fight Club comes back for a second year.

Granite Consulting, MDE Group, accountants Bishop Fleming, iO Associates and Whistle Punks Urban Axe Throwing are the latest to sign up for what is being trailed as the inter-company event of the year.

They will join players from Encore Media Partners, Saru General Trading and GDS – among others – in the challenge taking place on November 7 at Paintworks on Bath Road.

As a result, just one space is left for a Bristol firm to step up to the plate  in an attempt to wrestle the crown from reigning champions, the Bristol office of accountancy group Smith & Williamson.

Last year’s overall winner, the firm has already entered in a bid to retain the title, while Bristol Business News will again have a crack team competing on the night having secured a trophy last time.

Each firm has a team of four players but can also bring along a cohort of supporters – who will each receive a company-branded t-shirt – to cheer them on.

In total, 16 teams will battle it out. The evening will also offer businesses a host of fun activities and entertainment alongside the main tournament, including social ping pong zones for friendly grudge matches, the chance to go head-to-head with a ping pong robot, buddy-up doubles and even virtual reality ping pong.

Guests will also be able to enjoy pop-up bars, street food and face painting accompanied by the Ping Pong Fight Club DJs. The overall winner will receive a pro ping pong table for their office.

Ping Pong Fight Club began five years ago as a stand-alone annual tournament in London but has since spread around the country with events taking place in seven cities.

Ping Pong Fight Club founder Ade Leigh can’t wait to return to Bristol.

He said: “Last year Bristol put on a great evening with an amazing party atmosphere and this year promises to be even better.

“I know that the level of friendly competition in the room on the night will be just as intense as last year and we can’t wait to see which businesses will triumph.”
