Bristol law firm Osborne Clarke has completed its mergers with SLA Studio Legale Associato of Italy and Spanish firm Osborne Clarke Spain to create a 550-lawyer, 145-partner international firm with combined revenues of €150m (£118m),

Osborne Clarke is now a single international firm focused on delivering high-quality legal services to clients in six key industries.

The Italian and Spanish firms join OC’s existing UK and German operations meaning that, initially, the firm will have offices in five jurisdictions: UK, Germany, Italy, Spain and the US, with a total of 12 offices and headcount of more than 900.

The combined business will be led by an international board, headed by Simon Beswick as chief executive and governed by an international council led by Spanish senior partner Tomás Dagá.

Mr Beswick said: “By combining three firms that are each known for their commitment to client service, user-friendly style and depth of sector knowledge, we have created a business that is more than the sum of its parts.

“We have made no secret of our international ambitions and, in particular, the fact that we are looking to launch in Paris over the coming months.”

Mr Dagá added: “Our clients will benefit from a seamless, expert, cross-border service that supports their own international operations and growth. At the same time, sharing of best practice and expertise will sharpen our sector focus and provide greater depth of insight.”
