Each week Bristol Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word on its weekly e-bulletin. This week Simon Price, a partner in Bristol law firm Meade King’s dispute resolution and litigation team, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? For my daughter’s fourth birthday we went to see Frozen 2. I wouldn’t like to say how many times I’ve seen the first instalment but it’s a lot and I think I know the words to most of the songs.

Book you read? Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell.

Music you bought/downloaded? The soundtrack to Frozen 2 (of course!)

Concert or play you went to? Just before Christmas I went to see a play called Boing! at the Bristol Old Vic which was a children’s play about two boys who couldn’t sleep on the night before Christmas. We took the kids and it was great fun.

Sporting event you attended? Bath Rugby against Exeter Chiefs at the Rec in October. It seems that every time I watch rugby at the Rec (which is pretty seldom) it pours with rain and we’re always in the seats in the section with no cover.

Holiday you went on? Eurocamp family holiday to Languedoc in the South of France. We had a luxury (contradiction in terms) static caravan next to the beach. I love this region of France but I think next year, so everyone can sleep more than five hours, we might go for somewhere with better sound proofing.

Restaurant you ate in? Adelina Yard which is opposite our offices. On the kind invitation of the Family Law Practice (big shout out) I had an eight-course tasting menu which was amazing.

Thing that annoyed you? I’m not really a morning person so I suspect it would have been searching for my keys or a phone when I’m late for work in the morning. I’ve been known to stomp around the house and accuse anyone in my eyeline of moving the phone/keys before realising where I put them the night before and then I issue grovelling apologies to all concerned while they roll their eyes.

Thing that made you laugh out loud? Ricky Gervais’ 2020 Golden Globes speech.

Piece of good advice you were given? Sweat the big stuff’.  I’ll leave the context of that advice up in the air!

Born in York, Simon Price is a partner in Bristol law firm Meade King’s dispute resolution team where he specialises in commercial litigation and professional negligence. He has great experience acting for clients in claims against solicitors, barristers, surveyors, architects and accountants. Simon is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers’ Association and is an avid Manchester United supporter. Outside of work, he also enjoys cycling and running.
