Each week Bristol Business News lets a prominent member of the area’s business community have the last word on its weekly e-bulletin.

This week Kim Jones, director at High Growth Knowledge Company, answers our 10 questions:

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? Winter’s Bone starring Jennifer Lawrence as an Ozark teenager fighting to keep the family home and raise her younger brother and sister against somewhat overwhelming odds. Not for the faint hearted.

Book you read? Human Croquet by Kate Atkinson. A very unusual book; you can almost smell the forest and the houses and the characters are really strong. A great sense of suspense keeps you turning the pages.

Music you bought/downloaded? I don’t listen to music regularly, but like driving along to The Red Hot Chili Peppers or Weezer.

Concert or play you went to? The last play I saw was The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui in London.

Sporting event you attended? Women vs Cancer Ride the Night 2015. A 100km ride through the streets of London at night. Riding from Windsor Racecourse to central London and back again. I was a rider fundraising for the Ovarian Cancer Trust.

Holiday you went on? Last year I stayed near Azay-le-Rideau in France in an ancient house attached to a chateau. A truly amazing place with pool, tennis court and grounds. Lots of cycling and sunshine.

Restaurant you ate in? The Royal Oak in Leighterton, nr Tetbury. Beautiful surroundings and great food.

Thing that annoyed you? Car drivers when I’m cycling. Dangerous overtaking – it happens every day I’m out, either to me or I see it happen to others.

Thing that made you laugh out loud? I laugh a lot. On Friday night a very tall friend with a penchant for falling over, recanted a long list (complete with actions) of the recent incidents (she is currently wearing flip flops). We cried.

Piece of good advice you were given? I had an inspirational MD who suggested I ask myself at the end of each day if I had contributed to the profitability of the business that day.  It is often hard to see the actions of our day-to-day work, although I would probably think more about success than profitability these days.
