Each week Bristol Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word on its weekly e-bulletin.

This week John Hirst, chief executive, Destination Bristol answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? So long ago I can’t remember. I gave up going to the cinema as I would fall asleep after 10 minutes!

Book you read? Get off your Arse too by Brad Burton. A really great thought-provoking read.

Music you bought or downloaded? Cold Play using Spotify. I don’t buy albums like I used to.

Concert you went to? Many years ago I went to Westonbirt to see Heather Small from M People.

Sporting event you attended?  Rugby League Premiership final at Old Trafford.  Also go to my 12 year old’s rugby game every week.

Holiday you went on?  Snowboarding to Whistler in Canada.

Restaurant you ate in?  Steak of the Art on Harbourside.

Thing that annoyed you? Liverpool missing out on the Premier League title in May.

Thing that made you laugh out loud? Watching You’ve Been Framed, especially with Harry Hill’s comments.

Piece of good advice you were given? Get up very early every day and get ahead of the game!

John Hirst was born in Bradford and has worked in Bristol since 1997. He has a relatively newly discovered passion for cycling covering 300 miles every week. Now working with a great team at Destination Bristol promoting and developing the Bristol visitor economy which is worth £1.6bn a year. He is proud to be involved with the overall regeneration of Bristol, a city with a great history and, more importantly, a fabulous future for everyone to share.
