Bristol and London law firm Temple Bright has advised market leading financial planners Paradigm Norton, headquartered in Bristol, on its merger with London firm The Red House Consulting.

Paradigm Norton, founded in 2001, now employs 55 people across its offices in Ham Green, near Bristol, Torquay and London.

Last January it was named as the 2017 Top Financial Planning Firm in the South West by Citywire – a title it has won seven times previously – and in March was named Money Marketing 2017 Adviser firm of the Year.

The merger – its seventh – forms part of the firm’s expansion strategy, which involves a combination of mergers and organic growth through recruitment.

Chief executive Barry Horner said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be merging with The Red House, a firm we have watched for a number of years, which shares our values, passion and commitment to delivering an excellent client experience.”

The Red House managing director Ruth Sturkey added: “We are delighted to be joining forces with Paradigm Norton, a firm we have known and admired for nearly 10 years. This merger is great news for both our clients and our team, bringing greater strength, depth and continuity to our offering.

“The integration of our teams, each with an excellent track record of delivering innovative financial planning solutions, gives our mutual clients a range of additional resources, expertise and life skills.”

The Temple Bright team advising Paradigm Norton comprised seven partners – Ben Gisbey, Tom Farman, Carol Tricks, Ben Brodie, Comron Rowe, Nick Avery and Andrew Mace – working across a range of practice areas.

Corporate partner Ben Gisbey, pictured, said: “It was a pleasure and a privilege to advise this high-profile South West firm on such a significant strategic move. Paradigm Norton already has a strong London presence and client base, so this merger with The Red House is a logical next step in its expansion.”

Temple Bright was established in Bristol by three founders in 2010, using a pioneering streamlined, partner-only business model. The firm was recognised as Regional Law Firm of the Year by Bristol Law Society in 2012 before opening a second office in London in 2013.

It now has almost 60 partners divided evenly across the two offices. The firm has a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, boasting a team of 12 partners with this expertise.
