Leading software and services company Gresham, which works with many of the world’s largest financial services firms, has moved its global innovation centre to Bristol, underpinning the city’s growing reputation as a hub for fintech.

The centre, in the Brew House – a former brewery-turned-modern office building close to Castle Park – is now home to Gresham’s research and development, cloud and global customer support teams.

Nearly 50 staff have moved in from the centre’s original base on a rural business park at Latteridge, near Yate.

The firm said it had been designed to reflect its open and free-thinking culture with zigzag desks and areas specially created where staff can randomly meet – something the firm says creates more ideas than staged meetings.

The new office space has state-of-the-art video conferencing, stand-up meeting rooms and plenty of break-out areas to foster collaboration.

The team has built links with Bristol University, UWE and Plymouth University, and stages lunch and learn sessions to finals graduates, and playing an active role in technology forums and IT ‘meet ups’ in Bristol.

Gresham CTO Neil Vernon said: “I am a big believer in the ‘serendipity of collisions’ – this new space is perfectly set up to allow the sort of exciting collaborations that really make the technology fly as we build our global business.

“When it comes to innovation, Gresham really is in a unique position to ‘rip up the rule book’ for data integrity technology. It’s exciting to announce the official launch of our Innovation Lab, to serve as a home to our growing team as they continue working to innovate hand in hand with our customers.”

Gresham is a leading financial technology company, providing enterprise data integrity and control products to some of the world’s largest financial institutions. Its award-winning Clareti platform allows business leaders to understand and control their data, eliminating risk and providing exceptional insight into the business.

Gresham Computing, which has its headquarters in the City of London, is listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange. It serves its global clients locally from offices across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
