Mall grooming – how Bristol’s Young Talent learnt to dress to impress

School and college students taking part in the Bristol Young Student of the Year Awards have this week been learning how to dress to impress.

The masterclass, hosted by The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, demonstrated to the students how to coordinate colours and styles before tasking them with buying clothes for a job interview.

They will now wear their outfits down the catwalk as part of the awards ceremony, which takes place at The Mall on March 26, following Bristol Fashion Week.

As part of the competition, where they have been working with real businesses in order to develop their employability skills, the contestants also spent time with the BBC where they were coached in structuring and delivering a presentation with impact.

Later this month the teams will showcase the iPhone apps they have developed for local organisations to a panel of some of Bristol’s most successful business people. The app clients include the Bloodhound project, BrisFest, Hamilton House and The Station, the new centre for arts and technology opening later this year in the former central fire station.
