Nick Hewer, best known as Sir Alan Sugar’s right-hand man on The Apprentice, will give West accountants and professional advisers a behind-the-scenes view of life as TV celebrity when he speaks at the annual Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) West of England dinner this evening.
Swindon-born Nick, who also hosts Countdown, will share anecdotes about TV filming as he explains what a typical day entails on the set of the two popular TV shows.
Nick has more than 40 years’ business experience – prior to his TV success he set up, ran and subsequently sold a PR firm in London whose clients included international business brands such as Securicor and, crucially for his future career, Sir Alan’s Amstrad.
Nick said: “I look forward to meeting the great and the good of the West business community and participating in what promises to be a fantastic evening.”
Sponsored by West law firm Thrings, which has an office in Bristol, and Lloyds Bank, the ICAEW annual dinner is traditionally one of the high points of the region’s business calendar.
This evening’s dinner takes place at Bristol’s Thistle Grand Hotel.

ICAEW West of England president Adam Jaufurally said the annual dinner was among the region’s largest business dinners and was traditionally well supported by ICAEW members.

The ICAEW promotes, develops and supports nearly 13,000 chartered accountants working at the heart of West business in the professional services, manufacturing and industry.
