Transatlantic law firm Womble Bond Dickinson’s Bristol office has advised on a fourth major land sale by private clients in as many months to Taylor Wimpey, one of the UK’s largest housebuilding companies.

The latest deal involves a longstanding client who sold a site near Cribbs Causeway for a 700-strong housing development by Taylor Wimpey and Bellway South West.

It is understood each will build around 380 homes following a reserved matters planning application in what Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) understands to be Bellway South West’s biggest land purchase.

Around 25% of the development is expected to be affordable housing.

The WBD team advising the landowner was led by recently promoted managing associate Kayleigh Harrison-Dunford and senior counsel Robert Drewett, who provided key real estate and commercial expertise on the sale.

Kayleigh said: “It has been a pleasure working for our client on the sale of this. This is the fourth transaction in just a few months where we have advised clients on the sale of land in the South West to UK housebuilders, highlighting the attractiveness of the regional market for high-quality housing developments.”

WBD’s private client team is ranked highly in legal directories Chambers & Partners High Net Worth (HNW) guide and the Legal 500.

The team was praised by clients for delivering “absolutely first-class advice on a wide range of issues” to HNW individuals in the UK and overseas with teams drawn from across the firm’s seven offices.

The guide also highlights WBD as “one of the best private client teams in the West” for high-end private client work.

Bristol is the firm’s second largest UK office with a client portfolio that includes OVO Energy, Bristol Airport, international specialist materials group Spandex, Bristol Charities and Bristol City, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire councils.
