The Bristol office of DTZ has completed the sale of a 4.69 acre development site in Somerset to portable modular building contractor, Portakabin.

The land at Isleport Business Park in Highbridge was sold to Portakabin on behalf of a regional property company, represented by DTZ. BNP Paribas acted on behalf of Portakabin.

Portakabin will be using the site to open a new centre for the hire and refurbishment of modular buildings which will include two buildings housing an office and workshop space, as well as parking and storage areas. It is anticipated the centre will employ around 30 full-time staff once operational.

The site, which is located 1.5 miles from the M5, is located on the established Isleport Business Park and occupies a prominent position on the estate, on the corner of Bennett Road/Mark Road.

Will Nell, associate director in DTZ’s industrial agency team in Bristol, said: “The strategic location of the site and its accessibility to the motorway made it a strong option for Portakabin’s new regional centre. The purchase is also positive news for the local area, with a number of jobs being created at the site.”
