National law firm Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth has appointed solicitor Laura Podger to its Bristol family law team.

Laura joins from regional firm Royds Withy King’s Bath head office, having qualified as a solicitor this year.

She has previous experience working in corporate and medical negligence law and now handles divorce and family law matters.

Irwin Mitchell said Laura’s previous experience working in a school for children with learning disabilities and studying modules in child psychology at university provided her with a unique foundation and understanding in cases involving children, especially in contested Children Act matters where child arrangements are in dispute.

Laura’s appointment at Irwin Mitchell follows the arrival of solicitor Satya Bagga in September and associate Marjha Golding-Evans earlier this year.

The Bristol family law team is regarded as one of the best in the South West and is ranked in leading independent legal directories The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners as a top-tier firm in the region.

Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth Bristol family law team head Nicola Walker said: “Laura is an excellent addition to the Irwin Mitchell team. Having recently qualified as a solicitor, we’re excited to be attracting new talent like Laura and also Satya who joined a couple of months ago.

“Laura will also work with the national team, which has gone from strength to strength and continues to grow as we recruit some excellent people.

“Bristol has a lot to offer when it comes to family law and the sector is quickly growing. With talented new hires like Laura we’re looking ahead to being at the forefront of the south west region for family law and private client work.”

Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth’s national family law team has grown rapidly over the past 12 months following a successful recruitment drive.

Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth has 14 offices across the UK.
