Snow chaos: Region returns to work – but faces delays

The West was getting to work as usual this morning despite freezing overnight conditions and icy roads and pavements.

But weather forecasters are predicting more snow tomorrow – piling on the pressure for businesses getting back to normal after the disruption caused by Friday’s snowfall.

Most public transport was operating this morning although there were delays and some cancellations. First and Wessex buses both said they were staging normal services and train services were operating with some delays.

Bristol Airport this morning said flights were taking place as usual and the airport expects to operate a normal schedule.

UWE and Bristol University said all their campuses were open and Bristol City Council said it intends to operate today's refuse collections as usual and deal with the back log caused by Friday's snow.
