The Bristol office of accountancy, investment management and tax group Smith & Williamson is holding an ‘Inside Private Equity’ event to address a gap in many business owners’ knowledge.

Few business owners fully understand what private equity is, which makes it difficult for them to assess the potential of this type of investment and what it might mean for their business, according to Smith & Williamson.

At the event on November 10, business owners will be taken through an interactive presentation by specialists from Smith & Williamson and private equity firms who will also be available for informal meetings afterwards.  The event is co-hosted by Vistage leadership coaching and the FD Centre, which provides part-time finance directors to businesses.

Smith & Williamson Bristol office partner David Roper, pictured, said: “Back by popular demand, this event is designed to demystify private equity funding and to explain how it all works, who the investors are, the opportunities and potential challenges. It will also explore how private equity and venture capital funding can be used to spur a company’s growth and provide opportunities for those thinking about their exit or succession planning.”

The ‘Inside Private Equity Event’ is aimed at owners of profitable businesses turning over more than £5m a year. To find out more or reserve a place, contact Rebecca Walford at Smith & Williamson on 0117 376 2067 or email rebecca.walford@smith.williamson.co.uk
