Bristol-based car parts and accessories retailer Motaman is to relocate its Badminton Road, Downend, store after selling the site to supermarket giant Sainsbury’s, which will convert it into a Sainsbury’s Local outlet.

Motaman’s new store, which will be just 50 yards along Badminton Road from its existing unit, will maintain the firm’s reputation for stocking the top brands in car parts and accessories.

The Bedminster-based firm opened its first shop in 1985 and now has branches in Bedminster Parade, Bedminster, and Gloucester Road North, Filton, as well as Downend.

Managing director Yousouf Ramlugon said: “This is an exciting time for the team at Motaman and Downend residents, with a new Sainsbury’s store creating new jobs and us refurbishing another outlet just a short walk down Badminton Road.

“We thank the local residents for their custom over the last 25 years and are looking forward to welcoming them to our all new store.”

Motaman also boasts a strong environmental policy with biodegradable plastic bags and offering a free battery recycling service, as well using a ‘green pack’ system wherever possible in its online department.
