Carterwood, the Bristol-based specialist property consultancy dedicated to social care, has promoted seven members of its team to recognise their significant contributions over the past year.

Dr Henry Crosby has become an associate director, Luke Sefton and Victoria Millard are now associates and Hannah Cheese an executive PA while Andrew Whyte, Jessica Stainthorp and Sam Sefton have been promoted to senior analysts.

Henry joined Carterwood as a data scientist in 2017 and in his new role will primarily be the technical lead for the firm’s research and development (R&D) department.

He supported Ben Hartley, one of the founding directors, in developing Carterwood Analytics, which was launched last April.  The online platform provides instant high-level market analysis for funders, developers, operators and advisers, using market leading data, which Carterwood sources, cleans and researches.

Both Luke and Victoria joined the business in 2015 as research analysts and have been promoted on several occasions in recognition of their continued development. Luke’s key responsibilities include analysing and producing bespoke reports, along with handling key internal processes and databases.

Victoria’s role involves producing market reports in relation to older people’s housing, bespoke products including market reviews, ensuring quality assurance and supporting the wider analyst team, including line management duties.

Hannah has been responsible for providing PA support to the whole team, including the directors and consultancy and agency teams, since she joined Carterwood in 2015. She plays a vital role in the business – from managing the day-to-day office and Analytics administration to organising client dinners and coordinating diaries for the entire team.

Andrew and Jessica both joined as graduate analysts, with Andrew responsible for the change-management of the firm’s mapping software transition while also supporting new graduate research analysts training.

Jessica is responsible for writing care home reports as well as undertaking research for bespoke reports. Sam joined the team on placement in 2017, before returning as an analyst last year after graduating with a degree in Economics from the University of Exeter. His responsibilities include undertaking research and analysing and interpreting data with a focus on older people’s housing reports.

Carterwood co-founder and managing director Amanda Nurse said the raft of promotions reflected on each individual’s hard work and dedication to the business.

“It is a time of growth for the company and after having welcomed some new team members at the end of 2019, these promotions and the recruitment of two new posts this month, 2020 is once again going to be a busy year for the whole team at Carterwood.”

Aztec West-based Carterwood was founded in 2008 by Amanda Nurse and Ben Hartley to work exclusively in the long-term healthcare sector, specialising in the adult social care market.

Today it advises most of the top 20 operators across the elderly care sector and works for the majority of the top 10 voluntary operators.

Clients range from banks and financial institutions, corporate and private operators and investors to developers, not-for-profit providers and the public sector.

It also has strong links with key sector bodies, including the National Care Forum, Care England, Housing LIN and ARCO.
