Senior hire for Hydrock to lead its ground investigation team in the region

Bristol-headquartered engineering, energy and sustainability consultancy Hydrock has appointed Mark Campbell as regional director to lead its Geo business in the South West and Wales.

Mark, pictured, has joined from consulting engineers Jubb, where he was its Bristol-based head of ground engineering for six-and-a-half years. 

He has a 30-year career in the ground engineering sector, with wide-ranging experience including due diligence advice at pre-acquisition stage, the management of site investigations and remedial strategies, contracts management of geotechnical works, geotechnical design, and the management of health, safety and quality management.

He is a member of the Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA) project steering group, which has been established to produce a best practice guide to responding to natural landslides.

Hydrock divisional director Paul Shelley said: “We welcome Mark to our 110-plus strong national Geo-environmental and Geotechnical team.

“Mark will lead and develop our team of around 35 Geo engineers in the South West and Wales, helping address complex environmental and geotechnical site constraints and supporting our clients to de-risk developments to enable future multi-use community developments to come forward.”

Hydrock, which employs 700 people in its head office at Almondsbury and a further 17 offices across the UK, is regularly listed in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For.

Its recent high-profile projects have included the multi award-winning inland surfing lake The Wave near Bristol and the new home for English National Ballet in London.
