Target Corporate Finance has boosted its Bristol team with the appointment of senior corporate finance manager Myles Hamilton.

Myles joins the Temple Quay firm from KPMG Corporate Finance in London where he worked on mid-market merger and acquisition deals across a range sectors.

With more than seven years’ experience of buy-outs and sell-side and buy-side advice to corporates, Myles also brings significant experience of transactions involving public companies.

Prior to his career in corporate finance, Myles completed a PhD in condensed matter physics at the University of Bristol and worked as a research fellow and scientist in the UK and Europe.

Myles said: “Target has a solid reputation as one of the leading advisory firms in the South West and, with the recent increase in deal activity, it’s a great time to be joining the team.

“Part of Target’s focus is on entrepreneurial firms and helping owners realise the value in their businesses and as part of my role I’ll be focusing on deal execution in a wide range of areas, as well as advising business owners on future growth and exit strategies.”

The expansion of the team follows its move to Bristol earlier this year and the completion of several substantial deals.

Associate director Jim Shaw said:  “The quality and breadth of Myles’ experience is a real asset to the team and our clients.  In addition, Myles’ scientific background is especially useful in terms of understanding emerging technologies and assessing the market value and future potential of businesses within this sector.”
