On Sunday March 25 a team from SACO, the serviced apartment specialist, abseiled down its flagship Bristol Broad Quay property to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Staff from various SACO offices came together in Bristol to congregate on the roof of SACO’s flagship 72-apartment property at Bristol Broad Quay, starting their descent from the eighth floor.

The team of 20 successfully completed the event, even with a few hesitating to make their first steps over the edge. Staff from the Whiteladies Road head office and locations across the UK raised more than £2,000 from the event, helping them on their way to the £10,000 target they aim to raise for Cancer Research UK in 2012.

The company is running a number of charity and company events throughout the year to help celebrate its fifteenth anniversary year.

Lesley Freed, SACO CEO, said: “I am delighted to see the teams at SACO pulling together to raise money for such a great cause. In a year of celebration for the company it is great to see our teams enjoying and challenging themselves to help give more to Cancer Research UK.”

Demelza Stevenson of Cancer Research UK said: “I am so pleased that SACO is doing fundraising that can involve the whole company, as this is a great way to keep morale high whilst doing something positive for Cancer Research UK.”
