A record 26 trainees achieved a total of 36 passes across regional accountancy firm Bishop Fleming’s seven offices, with 7 completing their professional level.

Eight Bristol-based trainees passed 14 exams of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales at the September sitting, as well as three completing the professional level of the Institute.

The firm has also taken on 35 new trainees this year – another record – and is still recruiting.

Bishop Fleming partner in charge of technical quality and staff training, Caroline Smale, pictured, said: “These exam passes are a fantastic result for our trainees and for the firm.

“We were the first accountancy firm to win Investors in People and we continue to offer the very best training and support for our staff. These results are a perfect demonstration of how that policy is paying dividends.

“We continue to grow and innovate to reflect the changing market, and our recruitment and training programmes are a core part of our growth. We need to have the right people to embrace the digital accounting landscape of the future.”

Bishop Fleming, which also has offices in Bath, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Truro, and Worcester, is ranked 49th in the Sunday Times Top 100 places to work, where it is accredited as an ‘outstanding’ employer.
