A 320,000 sq ft office block could be built on Temple Street in Bristol city centre. Plans have been submitted to Bristol city council by London-based developer Commercial Estates Group, which wants to demolish Albert House opposite the Novotel hotel and replace it with the eight-storey building.

The area has become a prime office location over recent years, benefiting from the nearby Temple Quay development and improvements along Temple Way. Neighbouring occupiers include accountants KPMG and Capita.

The planned major upgrade of Temple Meads station and development of the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone will further boost the area.

The new building has been designed by architects Aukett Fitzroy Robinson, which has an office in Bristol, and Bath-based consultancy Buro Happold.
