National law firm Clarke Willmott is expanding its social housing team following a number of high-profile client wins.

Jonathan Stokes, pictured, has been appointed as head of plot sales in the firm’s commercial property team based in the Bristol office.

The move means a return to Clarke Willmott for Jonathan, who worked for the firm for 17 years and become a partner. He has spent the past 16 years at a specialist legal practice working with developers and providing volume legal services for building societies and a high street bank.

Clarke Willmott’s social housing team is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and advises an extensive client base. The new appointment will help the firm maintain its high profile and enhance its services within this high-growth sector.

Partner and head of social housing, Anne Hayward, said: “Clarke Willmott has earned a strong reputation for growing and developing its team through high-profile appointments and fresh ideas.

“We have experienced a considerable uplift in all types of work within property development; the addition of Jonathan Stokes allows us to build on our expertise in this area and offer a wider range of services to our clients.”

Clarke Willmott has six offices across England, employing more than 70 partners and 450-plus staff delivering a wide range of legal services for businesses and private clients.
