Property agents defy gloom to fully let office building

A landmark office building in Clifton is fully occupied following a flurry of activity by its marketing agents.

Award-winning production company Films@59 is the latest firm to move into 51-55 Whiteladies Road less than two months after agents Colliers International completed two other lettings in the building.

Rapidly-expanding Films@59, founded in 1990 and previously based elsewhere in Clifton, has taken 8,636 sq ft of space on a five-year lease.

Swedish-owned bank Svenska Handelsbanken has taken a new lease for 10 years on the ground floor while property agent Lambert Smith Hampton has signed a new five-year lease.

James Preece, of Colliers’ Bristol office, said: "All of the deals were with tenants who had high expectations and tight deadlines requiring a quick turnaround. It is no exaggeration to say that without the joined up approach across departments the deals would have failed.”

Adam Hyman, asset manager at Aviva Investors, which owns the building, added: “The attractiveness of Whiteladies Road coupled with Colliers’ resourcefulness has enabled the building to reach 100% occupancy, which is a great achievement in the current climate.”
