Osborne Clarke, the Bristol-headquartered international law firm, has promoted five associate directors to its partnership, taking its total number of partners to more than 200 for the first time.

The new partners include Simon Hancock, pictured right, who joined the firm in 2009 as a projects lawyer in its Bristol office. He is a key member of the firm’s projects team, and is widely experienced in working on large infrastructure projects through to the concession management business stream he established for Osborne Clarke.

Also working in the Bristol office is Tracey Wright, pictured below, who joined the firm in 2001 after qualifying as a tax lawyer. She has a deep understanding of the real estate and infrastructure sector, making her a key tax advisor.

Rebecca Clarke joined the firm as a real estate lawyer in 2007 with a focus on finance. Based in its Reading office, she has a track record of working on the largest, award-winning real estate deals in the region.

Kate Johnson qualified in Osborne Clarke’s London office in 2006 as a trainee. She has since specialised in payments law within its financial services sector and is integral to its market-leading payments law reputation.

Mathias Loertscher, who is also based in its London office and joined as a trainee in 2006, qualified into its corporate practice and has since built a reputation as a highly successful M&A lawyer in its digital business sector.

Over the past three years Osborne Clarke has hired around 50 lateral hires and made 22 internal partnership promotions. In total it employs more than 700 lawyers in 18 international offices.

UK managing partner Ray Berg said: “Congratulations to Becky, Simon, Kate, Mathias and Tracey. Each of them has a very strong client-led ethic which they ally with their deep sector knowledge and market insight. They have grown their practices and have proven themselves to be capable leaders who embody the Osborne Clarke culture.”
