The most coveted business accolades in the region, the West of England Business of the Year Awards, have been launched this week by accountants PwC.

Now in their 25th year, the prestigious awards have gained a reputation built firmly on the thoroughness of the judging panel, which is made up of respected business figures from across the region.

Previous winners include Dyson, MITIE and Renishaw. Swindon-based newspaper, magazine and book distributor Smiths News took the title last year.

For the second year running, Bristol Business News and its sister titles Swindon Business News and Bath Business News, are media partners and supporters of the coveted awards. Full coverage of the awards, including regular updates, profiles of the finalists and comprehensive coverage of the awards dinner and winners will appear across all our titles.

PwC regional chairman Rob Lewis, pictured with winners Smiths News at last year's awards ceremony, said:  “Looking back over the past 24 years, lots of the winning companies have continued to go from strength to strength and collectively have increased their profits and turnover which is a fantastic achievement for their businesses and for the region as a whole.

“The awards are dedicated to celebrating and profiling the success of businesses based in the West. Previous finalists have told us they have benefitted greatly from the networking and marketing benefits that the awards offer.”

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony and dinner on July 4 at the Wills Memorial Building in Bristol.

Other sponsors are ITV West & Westcountry, Beacon South West and the Western Daily Press.
