Regional property consultancy Alder King has made another key appointment in its Bristol office to meet continuing demand for its planning services.

Portia Banwell has joined the firm’s planning team as a planner, having previously worked at Bristol City Council.

Portia, pictured, is drawing on her experience in development management to offer a wide range of planning advice on commercial and residential projects.

She is focusing initially on the five-year land supply in the West of England and Alder King’s growing number of student accommodation planning applications on behalf of regional and national developer clients.

Portia graduated from UWE in 2013 with a Master’s degree in Planning and is now working towards her membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Alder King partner and head of planning, Simon Fitton, said: “We continue to experience strong demand for our planning services and are delighted to welcome Portia to the team.  She brings valuable experience and expertise which will be a great asset for us and our clients.”
