Mazars, the top 10 accounting and advisory firm, has promoted director Jon Marchant to partner in its Bristol office.

Since joining Mazars in 2014 from Gloucestershire accountants Hazlewoods, Jon, pictured, has been instrumental in growing the firm’s presence across the South West, focusing on entrepreneurial businesses.

Bristol Office managing partner Tim Ball said: “Jon is an integral part of our success in Bristol, and a thoroughly deserving addition to the partnership.

“He works hard to develop strong personal relationships and provide thoughtful commercial advice and is an example to which all our staff can aspire.”

Jon is one of five partner promotions across Mazars’ 18 UK offices. The firm said the appointments, which are drawn from across a range of service lines, reflect its ongoing investment in its core strategic markets including financial services, large and listed companies, public services and entrepreneurial businesses.

Senior partner Phil Verity said: “The success of our business is based on recognising talent and helping our people to develop with opportunities, training and support.

“These promotions represent the breadth of experience, entrepreneurial outlook and focus on clients to which we all aspire. I am proud to welcome these talented and dedicated people to the partnership.”

Mazars has around 140 partners and more than 1,700 employees in the UK
