Japanese-inspired restaurant Wagamama has opened its second site in Bristol. The outlet at Cribbs Causeway is creating 34 jobs.

The restaurant, on the upper level next to Marks & Spencer, will have space for 128 diners and serve trademark Wagamama dishes such as firecracker rice, chicken and prawn pad Thai and chilli squid as well as noodle dishes, ranging from ramen to stir-fried soba noodles.

General manager Ricardo Paredes said: “We are very excited to be opening our second restaurant in the city and to be in another busy Bristol location.”

The first Wagamama restaurant opened in London’s Bloomsbury in 1992. Today the chain, which is inspired by traditional Japanese ramen bars and Asian flavours, spans 17 countries with 91 outlets in the UK. Its other Bristol branch is on Queens Road, Clifton Triangle.
