A team based in the Bristol office of international law firm Osborne Clarke has advised advanced analytics company Actual Experience on its oversubscribed £10m fundraising.

Bath-based Actual Experience works with organisations to improve their digital infrastructure with its human experience management (HXM) services, the promotion of which has coincided with the coronavirus pandemic and the shift by many businesses to home and remote working.

The firm said the funding aimed to capitalise on these new market opportunities while also strengthening its sales, support and technology development teams to develop enhanced cloud efficiency and scalability, as well as funding general working capital requirements and bolstering its balance sheet.

The firm was founded 11 years ago following a decade of cutting-edge research at Queen Mary University of London and later relocated to Bath.

Having floated on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market in 2014, it is now the market leader in advanced analytics for managing digital business quality with offices in London, New York and Seattle as well as Bath.

The Osborne Clarke team on the transaction was led by Bristol-based corporate partner Mark Wesker, pictured, assisted by senior associate Ed Nisbet.

Actual Experience CEO Dave Page said: “We were delighted with the support that Mark and Ed gave us on this successful fundraise at an exciting time for Actual Experience.

“Osborne Clarke has been a long-standing adviser and valued partner of the company since our AIM initial public offering in 2014.

“The firm’s understanding of our business and the sectors in which we operate has been extremely valuable to us.”

Osborne Clarke’s corporate team works with global businesses, fast-growth start-ups and market challengers.

It advises at every stage of company development across all corporate issues from equity and debt fundraisings to mergers & acquisitions, initial public offerings (IPOs) and joint ventures.

It is ranked in Band 1 for Capital Markets: AIM by respected legal directory Chambers.

The nominated adviser, sole broker and bookrunner for Actual Experience’s  fundraising was N+1 Singer Capital Markets.
