Property consultancy JLL has practised what it preaches its clients following its move to its new Bristol office.
Relocation of the regional office to Great George Street after more than 50 years in nearby Berkeley Square has enabled the firm to introduce modern working practices and create a healthy and collaborative business environment. 
The showcase building next to next to Brandon Hill, accountants PwC’s former Bristol HQ, has undergone a £6m refurbishment.
Stand-out features include a new glass atrium the full height of the building, pictured below, and an outdoor terrace on the top floor boasting expansive views over Bristol, pictured right.
The offices have been designed so that the 130 employees have stimulating spaces that encourage a more agile approach to the working day.
There are six different types of space – a café on the top floor with covered terrace space and booths, upholstered pods for quiet working, a pitch room to rehearse presentations in and formal meeting rooms.
There will also be modern work stations, featuring electronically height adjustable sit/stand desks as well as great views of the city. 
Simon Peacock, head of JLL’s Bristol office, said: “At JLL, we see first-hand every day how important it is for workplace design to be fit for purpose in a rapidly changing, highly-connected world.
“Technology is set to transform working life and workplaces between now and 2030, leading to the creation of more flexible and smarter space. People are no longer wedded to their desks and employees are happier and more productive if they have a dynamic environment within which to work.
“This is why we’ve focussed on creating a new environment that completely transforms the way we work and takes health and well-being very seriously, enabling employees to work more collaboratively and productively in a space that they will really enjoy being in.”
The building also features a range of sustainable features including intelligent air conditioning which will allow fan coils to be switched off when windows are opened for natural ventilation, which could provide energy savings of up to 20%.
There will also be increased cycle parking, showers and drying room to cater for those who want to walk, run or cycle to work.
JLL has taken the 15,000 sq ft on a new 15 year lease. The landlord’s refurbishment was carried out by London-based Hermes, and JLL’s fit out was completed by its own design and fit out company Tetris Bluu.
