Award-winning Bristol agency Nudge Digital has strengthened its team and relocated to new premises as it continues to expand.

The digital marketing agency, whose Snapcycle app was one of six finalists in last week’s Bristol Green Capital Digital Challenge award, has recruited Gemma Hood as account director from London digital agency Jam.

She will spearhead Nudge Digital’s increasing new business drive after a suite of high-profile national client wins. The agency plans to recruit further staff in the coming months following its move to bigger offices at South Plaza in Marlborough Street.

The agency was founded in 2006 by two University of Bristol graduates, CEO Luke Aikman and technical director Ben Organ. Its Bristol-based team has grown by 50% in the past year and revenues have almost doubled in the past two years. Recent client wins include the Home Office’s Cyber Streetwise campaign, the Department of Health, and the HSE (Health and Safety Executive).

Gemma, who spent seven years in London delivering brand strategies, mobile and social campaigns for clients such as Sky, Bupa and Tesco, said: “Nudge are a great firm to join. They are entrepreneurial, passionate about finding great solutions for their clients and are growing at an incredible pace.”

Luke Aikman added: “With businesses becoming increasingly digital-centric, from their marketing to operations, I hope our pragmatic approach focusing on impact continues to position us for further growth.

“We are delighted to have Gemma join our fast-growing team. She’s already proving a dynamic addition. This is an exciting time for Bristol’s tech scene which is really beginning to realise its position as the UK’s tech leader.”

Bristol law graduate Aikman is a serial entrepreneur and start-up specialist with board positions in advertising, IT, film and training. He created Loccit.com, the online life compendium business, and also founded the Young British Entrepreneur programme, delivering entrepreneurship courses to schools and universities across the UK.

Internationally, Nudge has opened offices in Ghana and Dubai and is looking to expand its public sector online campaign work further overseas.
