French technology firm Alten, which works with major businesses in research and development and information systems projects, has opened an office in Bristol.

The move to the Brabazon Office Park, close to Filton Airfield, means all 45,000 sq ft of space at the office park is now occupied.

Alten, a European leader in technology consulting and engineering with 15,750 employees in 14 countries, chose to move to the office park as it is close to many of the region’s top manufacturing businesses.

Tom Dugay, of property consultants Alder King in Bristol, which secured the deal on behalf of office park owner Terrace Hill Group, said: “Brabazon is fast becoming the hub for hi-tech businesses supplying the likes of Airbus and BAE Systems.

“The park was conceived as a centre for the defence and IT sector and we are now seeing increased demand from such businesses seeking to relocate here, rather than further afield at Parkway or Aztec West, to be near their clients and other consultants.”

Alten, represented by Colliers International’s Bristol office, has taken the 3,070 sq ft (285.2 sq m) Unit 2 at Brabazon on a 10-year lease.

Elsewhere on the park, Alder King has helped Stirling Dynamics, an engineering company also serving the aerospace industry, expand further. Based in Unit 7 since 2008, it has now expanded into the adjacent Unit 8, taking its total office accommodation to 3,656 sq ft (340 sq m) on a new 10-year lease.
