New senior management team ready to build for future at historic planning consultancy

One of Bristol’s most historic independent property consultancies has a new senior management team following the departure of its long-serving owner.

Julian Bladen has left the Clifton-based firm after 22-and-a-half years to form Bladen Commercial Property Consultants, focusing on agency work in the South Wales and South West from Chepstow.

His departure has prompted a restructuring of the business, an office move within Clifton, while recent growth has led to expansion of the team to cope with increased volume of valuations and commercial property deals.

The new senior leadership team of Alastair Kimpton and Edward Le Masurier are now preparing for further growth at the firm, which was originally set up in 1878, making it the oldest private commercial property practice in Bristol.

Alastair, pictured right, has a wealth of valuation and development experience having previously worked at ETP as a surveyor before spending two years as an associate director at global property agency JLL’s Bristol office. He returned to ETP just over a year ago as a partner and also deals with valuation and agency work.

He said: “ETP already has an enviable record for delivering outstanding service and our goal is to build on those foundations, grow the firms offering, and build new relationships.

“We believe clients increasingly appreciate the more personal touch we bring to the market.

“While we are keen to preserve the heritage of ETP, which can trace its roots in the city back well over 100 years, we are also driving the business forward to create a modern and progressive firm providing top-tier professional advice and services throughout the South West and South Wales.”

Fellow partner Edward Le Masurier, pictured right, has worked at ETP for nearly 10 years.

He added: “Demand for our services is soaring so we are growing the team to meet that and, with the new management team in place, we firmly believe we are in the best possible position to push ETP towards its most successful period ever.”

ETP, which also has offices in Chepstow and Newbury, advises lenders, developers, private individuals, owner-occupiers, accountants and small-to-medium sized enterprises in property acquisition and disposal, planning and development, valuations and property management services.

It is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Bristol Property Agents Association.
